Languages
PHP
Syntax highlighting and the basics for PHP. Add an Open VSX extension when you want full IntelliSense and debugging.
What ships built in
Gyaanmitra includes basic PHP language features: highlighting, simple
validation hooks, and editor integration for .php files. That is enough
for a quick edit. A large application usually wants a richer language server.
Recommended next step
Install a maintained PHP language extension from
Open VSX (search "PHP"). Pair it with your local PHP
runtime on PATH. For debugging, add an Xdebug-capable debug adapter from
the marketplace.
Project tips
- Keep
phpavailable in the integrated terminal so Composer and scripts run the same way they do outside the editor. - Use a task for
composer test, PHPUnit, or your framework's CLI.
Built-in vs. extension
The bundled PHP support is light on purpose. Use a dedicated extension when you need completions across a large codebase, or when you want to step through a debug session.
