Get Started
Welcome to Gyaanmitra
An IDE for writing software and proving it works. The editor, the agent, and a real browser share one window.
Most AI editors are happy to help you type. They are quieter about the next question, which is the one your customer asks: does it actually work?
Gyaanmitra is built for both. You develop here. You automate here. You test here. Today that proof is a Playwright browser docked beside the code, so a website can be clicked through without leaving the editor. API, desktop, mobile, performance, and penetration testing are the same idea, still on the way.
What you get on day one
An agent that waits
Plan mode proposes a change and stops. Act mode shows a diff. You bring your own model key.
A browser in the workbench
Tabs, DevTools, and screenshots live next to the file you just edited. You can drive it, or the agent can.
Extensions when you need them
Install language tools from Open VSX. The marketplace is not a private store.
Windows, Mac, and Linux
Native builds, including Arm. The editor runs on the machine where the software has to run.
A short way in
Install it
Pick the build for your machine in Install Gyaanmitra.
Look around for five minutes
The activity bar, editor groups, and command palette are in Your First Five Minutes.
Ask for a plan
Connect a model and let it suggest a change before it writes anything. Start with Gyaanmitra AI.
Open the browser
Put the integrated browser next to the code and see the site update as you edit.
Where the docs go from here
Editor
Writing and moving through code: completions, refactoring, workspaces, accessibility.
Gyaanmitra AI
Plan and Act, models, rules, and what stays on your machine.
Terminal and Git
The shell and source control, still inside the editor. The terminal asks before it runs.
Your setup is just two files
Preferences live in settings.json. Shortcuts live in keybindings.json. Copy the files and the editor follows you to the next machine. See Settings and Keyboard Shortcuts.
