Languages
JavaScript
IntelliSense, navigation, and refactoring for JavaScript, including automatic type acquisition for libraries from npm.
Editing JavaScript
.js and .jsx files use the same language service as TypeScript:
completions, peek definition, rename, and quick fixes. Add // @ts-check,
or "checkJs": true in jsconfig.json, and you get richer type-aware
diagnostics without turning the project into TypeScript.
Automatic type acquisition
For many npm packages, Gyaanmitra can download @types/* packages in the
background so hover and completion know the library's API. This uses npm
on your machine. If it fails, check that npm is installed and reachable
from the integrated terminal.
The settings live under JS/TS › Automatic Type Acquisition (and the
older typescript.disableAutomaticTypeAcquisition aliases).
Project configuration
A jsconfig.json (or a tsconfig.json with allowJs) says which files
belong to the project, sets path aliases, and tunes checking. Without one,
Gyaanmitra still offers language features for the files you have open. With
one, workspace symbols and cross-file refactorings are more reliable.
