Ownership
Gyaanmitra, including its name, logos, original source code, documentation, and the product as offered at gunamaya.com/gyaanmitra, is the proprietary property of Gunamaya Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“Gunamaya”). Copyright in Gunamaya’s original work is held by Gunamaya Technologies Pvt. Ltd., 2026 to present. All rights are reserved.
Not open source
Gyaanmitra is not an open-source project and is not released under the MIT License, the Apache License, the GPL, or any other open-source license. Nothing on gunamaya.com, and nothing in the Gyaanmitra application, grants a right to copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, or sell Gyaanmitra, except for the limited right to use a copy that Gunamaya has made available to you under these terms or a separate written agreement.
Permitted use
You may install and use Gyaanmitra for your own work, on the platforms Gunamaya supports, in line with the edition you are using and any plan you have purchased. That permission is a license to use the product. It is not a transfer of ownership, and it is not a license to the source code.
Restrictions
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the product except where the law expressly allows it. You may not remove copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices. You may not rent, lease, sublicense, or host Gyaanmitra for third parties, and you may not use the Gunamaya or Gyaanmitra names to suggest that a fork, a modified build, or another product is official.
Trademarks
“Gunamaya” and “Gyaanmitra”, and the associated logos, are trademarks of Gunamaya Technologies Pvt. Ltd. You may refer to the product by its name to describe your use of it. You may not use the marks in a name, logo, domain, or advertisement that implies sponsorship or affiliation.
The website
The Gyaanmitra pages on gunamaya.com, including the documentation, are owned by Gunamaya Technologies Pvt. Ltd. You may view those pages and share links to them. You may not copy them, or substantial parts of them, for your own product or publication.
Third-party software
Gyaanmitra may include third-party components that remain under their own license terms. Those terms apply only to the component they cover. They do not relicense Gyaanmitra, and they do not make Gyaanmitra itself open source. Where a notice file ships with the application, that file identifies those components.
No affiliation
Gyaanmitra is an independent product of Gunamaya. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft Corporation. “Visual Studio Code” and “VS Code” are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation and are not used as the name of this product.

The product and the Gyaanmitra pages are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the extent the law allows, Gunamaya is not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of Gyaanmitra.
