Windows setup guide
Installer and portable ZIP options, plus notes on Windows on Arm.
macOS setup guide
One universal .dmg for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
Linux setup guide
.deb, .rpm, and .tar.gz builds, plus repository setup.
Quick install
Download the .exe installer for your architecture and run it. Gyaanmitra
installs for your user by default, so you do not need administrator
rights. It adds itself to your PATH, so from any terminal you can run:
gyaanmitra .to open the current folder.
What is included
Every build includes the editor, the integrated terminal, Git, debugging, task running, and the Integrated Browser. Gyaanmitra AI is included too. You connect it to the model provider you choose. See Pricing for what each tier includes. Gyaanmitra only talks to the network when you ask it to: checking for updates, installing an extension, or connecting to an AI provider you have set up.
Next steps
Open your first folder
Launch Gyaanmitra and use File → Open Folder… to open a project, or run
gyaanmitra . from inside one in your terminal.
Take the interface tour
Head to Your First Five Minutes for a walk through the Activity Bar, editor groups, and Command Palette.
Connect an AI provider
Open Gyaanmitra AI's settings and add an API key for the model provider you want. See Models & Providers.
