Policies & Deployment
Roll Gunamaya out across an organization with centrally managed defaults, without giving up the open, extensible editor your developers already know.
Managed policies
IT administrators can enforce organization-wide defaults using standard platform policy mechanisms — Group Policy on Windows, configuration profiles on macOS, and equivalent mechanisms on Linux — covering things like which extension sources are permitted, whether Settings Sync is allowed, and default network/proxy configuration.
Extension management
Restrict installations to an approved allow-list, or pre-deploy a fixed set of extensions to every managed machine automatically.
Telemetry controls
Set telemetry to off, error-only, or full at the machine-policy level, overriding whatever an individual user has selected locally.
Deployment at scale
Both the Windows System Installer and the Linux package repository (see Setup and Setup) are built for scripted, silent installation across a fleet of machines using your existing software-deployment tooling — no interactive install wizard required.
Choose a distribution method
The Windows System Installer supports silent, unattended installs; Linux fleets typically pull from the apt/yum repository directly.
Pre-configure default settings
Ship a default settings.json alongside the install, or apply settings
via policy, so every new install starts with your organization's
baseline configuration already in place.
Manage updates centrally
Point managed installs at your own update feed, or disable Gunamaya's built-in auto-update entirely and manage version rollout through your existing patch-management process instead.
AI usage controls
Because Gunamaya AI connects to whichever model provider each user configures with their own key (see Models & Providers), organizations that need to standardize or restrict AI usage can do so at the network or provider level — for example, only allowing outbound requests to an approved provider's API endpoints — without Gunamaya requiring any special enterprise-only AI configuration of its own.
